The Life on the Moon

Life has been found on our closest celestial neighbour at last- the moon. Of course, everybody knows this now however a recent, two-hundred page paper has told more about what this actually is. Discovered by the European Space Agency’s Lunar Dawn rover, it appears to be an entire ecosystem. It appears that a colony of Archaea has survived the near vacuum by turning the rock into oxygen through complex chemistry. They then gather nutrients, again from the rock, and release feed on this. Even more astounding, though, is the predators. Tardigrades have been found preying on the Archaea. This, however, may not be an example of convergent evolution. The life has been found inside a meteor crater, from a meteor of terrestrial origin. The tardigrades are thought to have stayed frozen inside the meteor until impact. However, good astrobiologists, do not give up hope! The fact that the tardigrades woke up means that there has to have been liquid water at some point in the lunar history!

BREAKING NEWS: CHINA TO LAND ON MARS :BREAKING NEWS

In the past half hour the Chinese space authority has held a news conference in which they announced a stunning revelation. Three years ago what was thought to be a routine, if slightly large load, was sent towards the Chinese space station. It was going to, or so it was thought, add a new couple of modules to the space station. The craft seemed to accidentally miss the station and begin to carry on into deep space. It’s crew were ordered to return, leaving the module out there for later retrieval. Whilst a smaller  module of the craft was released and seen to return to earth with what was thought to be its crew. This was all thought to be okay. The module passed out of monitoring towards the moon, where it is thought to have crashed. It has been revealed that instead, it slingshotted around the moon towards mars. This manoeuvre is performed to kick start a space mission when it steals some of the potential gravitational energy and transmutes it into kinetic energy. It has since then run on an electrical ion drive, making slow progress, until nearing Phobos, one of the two moons of Mars. Here they landed inside the giant impact crater which the moon possesses, and set up a base. They then have launched a capsule towards the red planet which will land in three days.

The science behind the U.S. Plasma "Guns".

Anybody who has been paying even the slightest attention to the most recent news will have heard about the American Plasma Weapons which have been developed and deployed in the deserts of Afghanistan. There has been thousands of blogs trying to figure out how these would work. Plasma, a highly energised form of gas, is able to pass through literally anything- walls, bodies, armour, and as such it is the perfect weapon. However, with these properties people have wondered what kind of barrel can direct the sheer force of the material. In the last three hours a press conference about the weapon has revealed how.

It is an unmanned weapons platform, and it does not need any maintenance. It is dropped from an aircraft, a bomber or a cargo plane with a hatch at the back, whereupon it embeds itself in the ground. By this point the battlefield has had all its soldiers retreated, leaving only guerrillas. A small tower then rises out of the ground and starts emmiting plasma. It has no barrel, it simply strikes plasma out like a Tesla Coil.
